To report a crime or incident, you should use the following official West Midlands Police channels:

1. In an Emergency:

  Call 999 immediately if a crime is in progress, there is an immediate danger to life, or the suspect is still at the scene.

  Hearing or speech impaired: Use the emergencySMS service (text 999, registration required) or the 999 BSL video relay service. 

2. Non-Emergency Reporting 

For incidents that do not require an immediate response, such as property damage or historic theft:

  Online Reporting (Fastest): Use the West Midlands Police Online Portal to submit a report that goes directly to the control room.

  Call 101: Use the national non-emergency number for general enquiries or reports that are not urgent.

  Live Chat: Available on the official website for real-time assistance with non-emergency issues. 

  Note: Do not use social media or local team emails to report a crime; these are not monitored 24/7. 

3. Anonymous Reporting

  Crimestoppers: To provide information about a crime without revealing your identity, call 0800 555 111 or use the Crimestoppers online form
